Recovery is a lifelong journey, and Orpheus residential programs mark the beginning of what must become a long-term commitment and a new way of life in order to achieve lasting wellness and permanent release from destructive behaviour.

Our four-week Intensive Core Program has been established as a solid foundation for sustained recovery, and as an opportunity to establish committed lifestyle practices and effect new patterns of behaviour, free from a range of conditions like executive burnout, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and chronic fatigue syndrome.

We strongly recommend our Intensive Core Program to be combined with, or follow on from Orpheus Medically Monitored Detoxification programs as an opportunity to strengthen and develop recovery progress, and achieve lasting behavioural and lifestyle change.

The Program integrates personalised physical fitness and food plans, instruction on lifestyle and diet, mind body techniques like yoga and meditation, a range of daily activities, and a balance of alternative therapies with intensive daily psychotherapy sessions for an overall program strategy, designed to restore wellness to the entire mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual being.

Intensive Core Program treatment plans are crafted from a holistic, multi-disciplinary perspective, in response to individual client needs and circumstances determined by comprehensive assessment outcomes. Modalities are selected and carefully integrated to address the underlying causes of destructive behaviour and to establish strategies which cultivate optimum health and wellbeing.

We believe that by learning new life skills and establishing committed patterns of behaviour over an intensive four-week period will significantly ease the transition into your new way of life.

The Intensive Core Program is rigorous yet flexible, so as to accommodate client progress and changing client needs throughout the four-week period. The liberal time frame encourages a powerful therapeutic relationship with your psychotherapist and profound insight into the subconscious as a primary healing mechanism, which may evolve as follows:

Week 1
  • Undergo emotional and/ or physical detoxification
  • Identify and explore issues driving destructive behaviour
  • Explore mind body connection
  • Focus on self-awareness

Week 2
  • Focus on self acceptance
  • Discuss impacts of past behaviour on relationships and other areas of life
  • Accept responsibility for past actions

Week 3
  • Reveal inner strength and a sense of connection to yourself and those around you
  • Learn tools to master behaviour and achieve healthy interpersonal relationships
  • Discover the value of goal setting

Week 4
  • Focus on future directions and possibilities; set long-term goals
  • Feel capable to overcome future obstacles and continue recovery momentum
  • Look ahead with hope, optimism, and empowerment with which to transcend destructive cycles of behaviour and restore healthy interpersonal relationships

The intensive four-week period has been determined as an optimum time frame for rigorous, progressive recovery and a process of transformation conducive to long-term wellness and freedom from the burdens associated with destructive behaviour.

Orpheus programs are assessment driven, so progress is monitored and measured throughout the treatment Program as a source of motivation, and indicator for required program modification. Each personalised program is supported by a range of holistic modalities as complementary to the therapeutic process, and the achievement of complete physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

This Program is an opportunity for profound healing, long-term liberation from past behaviours and true, lasting transformation on the lifelong recovery journey.
